Messages from Year 7

“Dear Year 6

I understand that some of our may be worried, but there is nothing to worry about! The school is quite small, so you won’t get lost. If you think it might be scary, I felt like that too at first, but this school helps you to find your dreams and helps you to accomplish them. If you need support we have a Pastoral Team and an SLT to help!”

” Dear Year 6,

I hope you have a brilliant time at BHS. You should just try your best like I did at the start of Year 7. Every teacher will appreciate that. If something is worrying you, speak to your form tutor. They will help you all they can. I know how you might feel since I also started in Year 7 feeling nervous. You will make a lot of friends as I did! I never thought I’d settle in as well as I have or make as many friends as I have. I’ve settled in so well and made lots of friends and so will you. I hope you have a great experience at BHS and I look forward to meeting you in September”

“Dear Year 6

BHS is great! There is NOTHING to worry about. All the teachers are very friendly and there’s not one lesson that isn’t fun! I remember being a scared Y6 but I was welcomed at BHS with open arms. ”

“To our new Year 7s,

You are probably nervous to join high school, thinking you might get lost in our building and worried about making new friends. Trust me, you won’t be worried once you get here. Burnley High School is a small building with lots of friendly people who will welcome and look after you no matter which year group they are in. Have fun and enjoy it!”

“I love BHS because it really does feel like a family. All staff and students know each other, are extremely supportive of one another and show amazing levels of respect throughout the school. There really isn’t another school like it!”
